Booth Notes is made by one narrator, and a real person reads every message. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, please write — bug reports and feature ideas from working narrators are how this app gets better.
Tap the ? button in the library for the built-in help — seven topics that work offline, plus a replay of the welcome tour and a sample manuscript you can practise on. Most questions are answered faster there than by email.
Do I need an account?
No. Every feature works with no account at all, and nothing leaves your device. Signing in is only for syncing your library between your iPad, iPhone and Mac.
What is Booth Notes Pro?
Cloud sync. Booth Notes is free, and everything you do on one device stays free — including saving a backup file. Pro adds sync: sign in on each of your devices and your manuscripts, notes, memos and ink follow you. It is $29.99 a year, the first 14 days free, sold through the App Store. Cancel any time in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions; your library stays on your devices either way.
I subscribed on my iPad — how do I get Pro on my Mac?
Tap Sync, then Restore Purchases on the Pro screen, using the same Apple ID. Then sign in with the same account you use on the iPad.
How do I mark a word?
Select the word on the page, then tap Pronounce at the bottom of the screen. Add your pronunciation, a note, or a voice memo. Every other occurrence of that word in the book is highlighted automatically — you only ever mark it once.
Can I use it on my Mac in the booth?
Yes. Booth Notes runs on Macs with Apple silicon — search for it in the Mac App Store. Sign in with the same account and the book you prepped on the iPad, including your notes, memos and ink, is already there.
Does the Apple Pencil work?
Yes, with pressure-aware, low-latency ink. Your Pencil draws and your finger scrolls, so you never have to switch modes. A quick tap with the Pencil selects a word instead of drawing.
I'm starting book two of a series. Do I have to redo the cast?
No. Assign both books to the same series and they share one word list, live. Every name you worked out for book one is already marked in book two.
Is my manuscript safe?
Your books stay on your device unless you sign in, and even then your cloud copy is private to your account. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, tap your account chip in the header, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account and everything stored in the cloud for it. Anything already on a device stays there. A Booth Notes Pro subscription is managed by Apple and is not cancelled by deleting the account — cancel it in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
Something's wrong. What should I include?
Which device (iPad, iPhone or Mac), what you were doing, and what happened instead. The app version helps too — tap your account chip in the header to see it.
